LAURA TURLEY - 400M
Laura is a 400m sprinter from North Wales. After having four years away from the sport, Laura made a return in 2017 in which she competed in the 100m & 200m and achieved county and welsh inter regional Championship titles. In the beginning of 2018 she decided to move up an event to the 400m, where she started off her first season in the event by becoming Welsh indoor champion and qualified for the British indoor championships (Incl. World Trials). Throughout the season, Laura says she has achieved more than she had imagined for her first year running 400m, lowering her personal best time from 57.11 to 54.69.
More achievements of her 2018 season include: Welsh outdoor silver medallist, 4th place at her first BUCS championships, qualifying for and competing at the British outdoor senior championships (Incl. European Trials), England U23 & Senior championship finalist and earning selections for her country, Wales, for both the Loughborough and Manchester International competitions.
Laura aims to further improve on her successful 2018 season in 2019 once she has her first full winter training for the 400m behind her. She is excited to continue her hard work towards an even more successful 2019 season.
Laura loves all things sport (especially athletics) and is currently studying Sport and Exercise Sciences at the University of Chester.
