MICA MOORE - 100/200M
Mica Moore is an International Sprinter and Olympic British women's bobsleigher. She competed for Wales in the 4 × 100 metres relay at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, and competed in the 2-women bobsleigh at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyongchang.
Coached by her father, Mica has competed in athletics for over 10 Years, based in Cardiff she competes for Wales her home country and Birchfield harriers. Mica attend Cardiff Met University representing them for 6 years at the British University Championships, in this time she competed at 9 of the competitions, reached 15 finals out of 16 and won 8 medals including a Gold as part of the 4x100m relay in her Final BUCS.
In 2016, Mica moved from Sprinting to Bobsleigh. In her 2 years in Bobsleigh with her Pilot she became World Junior Champion, achieved a podium finish in a World Cup race on the fastest track in the World and an 8th place at the Pyeonchang Winter Olympic Games in 2018. This was the best finish for British Women Ever. This result was also commended as the team of Mica and Mica (Pilot) lost their funding in the lead up to the Games, due to an overspend in British Bobsleigh, meaning the pair had to Crowd Fund £30,000 to be able to compete in the 2017/18 season.
In 2019, Mica decided to return to Track and Field, since doing so she took home a Silver medal at the Welsh Outdoor Championships 2019 and a Silver Medal at the Welsh indoor Championships with a season’s best performance. More Recently, Mica competed at the British indoor Championships coming away with a 4th place in the 60m and a 5th place in the 200m. Alongside this Mica returned to Cardiff Met University to complete a Masters in Sports Broadcasting.
Mica, hopes to continue her athletics courier and represent Wales at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games in 2022 in an individual event.
