Sharlene Mawdsley is a 200m/400m track athlete.

She lives in Ireland and is studying for a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and New Media at then University of Limerick where she has a Scholarship.

Sharlene has a 200m Personal best of 23.55 and 400 meter PB of 52.89 

She is still an u23 athlete and will continue to focus on the 200 meters until her transition to a senior, when she will then focus on the 400 meters. 
Sharlene has competed for Ireland in the 200 meters at the European Juniors in 2015 placing 7th, World Juniors in 2016 where unfortunately she was disqualified, and the European juniors in 2017. She has also competed in the European team championships as a senior in both 4 x 100m and 4 x 400 meter relays which was her senior debut.

2018 was completely ruled out due to injury but she has come back to place second in both indoor and outdoor University Championships, already having the qualifying standards for the European u23 Championships in the 200m for 2019.

Sharlene has won National titles in the 200 meters and broken the National Junior record in 2017. She also broke the 400m Irish schools record which was a 13 year old record after only four 400 meter races.(these records are now broken since last year)

Sharlene is also a member of the Ireland u23 4 x 100m and 4 x 400 meter relay teams. The Team placed 4th in both the European u20 Champs and 5th in the world Junior Championships.
